We send the books to the stores immediately once the book has been accepted by our book review team, but unfortunately book stores have their own internal review processes before they decide to make books available for sale.
With hundreds of stores in our partnership network we are faced with different terms and review processes, but one thing is certain: none of them accept titles automatically. They check, among others, for copyright and quality issues. We have been working very hard to speed up review times; in case of Apple iTunes we are one of the trusted partners, which means that it usually takes only a few hours to 3 business days to get an ebook published. In other big stores, such as Kobo, Barnes and Noble, and Google, it usually takes 5-7 business days to get a book onto shelves.
We can say that it normally won’t take longer than 14 business days for a book to be accepted in any of the stores, but certain public holidays (Christmas, Chinese New Year) and occasional maintenance may influence the speed of the ebook review process by the stores.
We suggest that if you have a book with a strict publication date, you upload it at least two weeks in advance. In this case your book will be automatically set for pre-sale in the stores where this function is available, so your readers can already buy your book, but they can read it only after the official publication date set by you in PublishDrive.
