What is the average publishing time? How long do I have to wait for my book to be available in stores?

After the book has been approved by our internal review team, we’ll send the book to stores immediately.

However, each store has additional review processes, so the publishing date will vary. Store doesn’t automatically accept books, as they have to check for copyright and quality issues, but we do everything in our power to speed up publishing times.

But in general, here’s what you can expect for the major retailers: 

• Amazon: 1-3 business days
• Apple Books: few hours to 3 business days
  
• Barnes & Noble: 2-7 business days
• Google Play Books: 7-10 business days (Google setup needed before the publication)
  
• Kobo: 1-3 business days
• Scribd: 7-10 business days
• China: up to 6 months
• Ingram and Amazon Print: up to 2 weeks
• Audible: up to 30 days

You can check the publishing time information for every store after successfully uploading a book for distribution.

Typically, it doesn't take longer than 14-28 business days for a book to be accepted in any of the stores, but certain public holidays (such as Christmas and Chinese New Year) and occasional maintenance may influence the speed of publishing by the stores.

We suggest that if you have a book with a strict publication date, you upload it at least two weeks in advance. In this case, your book will be automatically set for pre-sale in the stores where this function is available.
