We offer free ebook conversion from .docx to EPUB. For best results, we recommend that you follow this guide for preparing your manuscript.

To get your book converted, please click Add book, then drag & drop your docx file to the book field. Complete the pre-conversion checklist and all mandatory metadata. At the bottom of the page, you will be able to start the conversion and preview the file when it is done. When you are satisfied, press 'Publish'.

 

PDF files

There is currently no good solution for converting PDF's to EPUBs, due to the differences between the two formats. PDF files are designed to look the same on all devices: everything has a fixed position and cannot be changed. When you open a PDF on a smaller device (e.g., smartphone or tablet), you notice that the text becomes tiny, and you need to zoom & oddly navigate within the file. Reading a PDF on an e-reader device is almost as uncomfortable as photographing a whole book and reading that (which is something none of us would ever do, obviously). PDF is the ideal format for print distribution: it is designed with the exact paper size in mind. It always looks like the print version. It never changes.

Ebooks, on the other hand, are created in a format that changes shape according to the device you read it on.

Automated PDF conversion often leaves forced line breaks and page numbers in the text. If you have a PDF to convert (and you don't have your book in .docx format), you might require a professional conversion service.
